Golf Access

JPROA Golf Access Information

Welcome to the 2022/2023 golf season at Jack’s Point Golf

Its great to be out of Covid traffic light system and moving forward to re-ignite Jack’s Point Golf and restaurant/café for the season ahead. We are pleased and thankful to have received the support of New Zealanders over this past very turbulent 2 1⁄2 yrs. It is wonderful to see the early response by International travelers especially from Australia returning to Queenstown this summer.

The Golf Course has come through the winter maintenance period in great shape after a very wet winter and now cold spring. The ground temperatures are taking a while to warm up, the anticipated spring growth is slowly kicking into gear. This is required to return the greens and tees back to their normal colour and smoothness. Our greens team this season have applied applications to help eradicate the spread of Poa from further infiltrating our fabulous bend grass greens and tee’s.

We currently rebuilding staff numbers as quickly as we can to help deliver the best experience we can, however under current immigration rules this has been challenging.

The Golf Shop Team of Alex Page, Luke Leesburg (PGA), Dave Harper and Vinnie Wyatt, are enjoying being back in the Clubhouse, the ease to which we can greet our valued customers at the start and conclusion play is a real positive.

We are looking forward to assisting all residents and your guests. A special welcome back to international residents and visitors to the golf course this summer. We will continue to promote a variety of packages to attract visitors and locals to Jack’s Point this coming season.

We are all looking forward to a fun season of golf and friendly banter in 22/23.

Who is eligible for golf access under JPROA Golf Subscription?

Access to the golf course is open to eligible members of the JPROA. The definition of an eligible member is contained within the golf encumbrance between JPGCL and JPROA under section 5. This document is available in full as an attachment to the Constitution from www.jackspoint.com/society/.

JPROA has registered in its favour, two Golf Course Encumbrances over the golf course land. These Golf Course Encumbrances provide JPROA members with rights of access to the golf course. They also obligate JPROA to pay the Golf Levy to the Golf Course Operator (Jack’s Point Golf Ltd) so that JPROA members can enjoy these rights of access with the existence and ongoing maintenance of the golf course is an integral part of Jack’s Point.

The Golf Course Encumbrances permit members of the JPROA to use the golf course subject to any rules and regulations imposed by the Golf Course Operator. Members of the JPROA have the right to use the golf course as either:

  1. JPROA eligible members who join the Jack’s Point golf course via annual subscription will be entitled to play golf on a casual basis without further payment of green fees, plus receive privileges associated with the annual golf subscription. The annual subscription covers all green fees for the season

  2. JPROA eligible members who wish to receive the reduced green fee option are required to pay no more than 75% (25% reduction) of the visitor/casual green fee rate. This season we offer JPROA eligible members a special green fee rate of $95pp ($125 incl of cart).

All must nominate the eligible persons in writing to JPGL (these will be checked and approved by the JPROA) before being able to take up the right to use the golf course under the 2 playing options above and receive the associated benefits.
